Who’s working Xmas day?

Who else is working tomorrow and what do you do? I’m working on a hospital ward, it’s going to be pretty bad due to staff shortages so I’m dreading it. Will probably be in charge too. Otherwise I don’t mind particularly and I quite like the drive in and back with no one on the roads listening to Xmas music. Most years we get some good brought in for the staff but I think they’ve pulled the budget for that this year.

Me (Staff nurse). I enjoy working Christmas.

I’m not (I’m in a kind of retail/sales job) but my ds1 (24)has recently started working in the ymca in a kind of sheltered homeless housing place as a support worker and he’s working Xmas day helping to cook and serve all the residents Xmas dinner. I think he’s looking forward to it (but I’m already missing him- first ever Xmas without him here!)

DH is on 12 hour nights today and tomorrow 😔 glad we at least have Christmas dinner with him and boxing day to look forward to.

Not tomorrow. But am on Boxing Day. Work for the police. The job I do is normally quiet on Christmas Day but Boxing Day it all kicks off.

I’m working tomorrow and DH is working Boxing Day so we celebrated today. Kids thought it was great getting everything a day early 😂

I'm working in the evening by my lovely coworker swapped so I was off tonight so my kids could have Christmas morning at home instead of shipping it all to my parents. I'm a home carer

DH is working Christmas Eve / Day, hospital consultant on call for Friday/sat/sun but only definitely in (fingers crossed) in the day
He said it was busy today but it's usually quieter. He takes in treats for all the staff working on his wards.
He hasn't had the Christmas shift for a while so our 6yo doesn't remember him doing it before, so lots of reassurance needed that it won't affect FCs delivery even though we're not having the rest of Christmas til Monday.

Working tomorrow night, worked last night too (care home)

Blueuggboots · 24/12/2022 17:46

I'm on days today then nights from tomorrow for 4 shifts. I work for the police (but not a PC). It's dead at the moment but that won't last!

fatsinglereadytomingle · 24/12/2022 17:53

I'm working 12hrs today/tomorrow/Boxing Day in a police control room...I already know it won't be great
