What's your favourite cocktail recipe?

Thinking of throwing a few cocktails in the mix over the festive season - I've tried so many recipes that were all rather blah!

Had a lovely amaretto, chambord & cranberry one at a steakhouse the other day so going to try and recreate that.

Does anyone have any good recommendations - recipe would be fab but even if it's just the ingredients and sounds nice I'll have a dabble today 😀

Coffee ice cubes
Vodka
Baileys
... not actually tried it yet, but have the stuff over Christmas to make it!!

That sounds potent! I'm not a coffee girl but my mum would love that!

Oooh amaretto and chambord sounds right up my street. But unfortunately I've got no cranberry juice hmmmm

My favourite is a Sweet Melissa

Muddle big chunks of oranges and lemons in a cocktail shaker to get all the juice out.
Add chambord, Jäegermeister, ice and shake.
Strain into an ice filled tumbler and top with cranberry juice

Dammit I really wish I had picked up cranberry juice now!

100ml vodka, 50ml expresso, 50ml khalua (or tia Maria), tablespoon simple sugar syrup. Shake over ice and strain into 2 martini glasses. 🍸

I should also say you can make the syrup really easily at home, no need to buy it in special!

fuzzy navel - peach schnapps and orange juice

smirnoffango and passionfruit vodka with apple juice and soda water

Just made eggnog for my mum - not my type of thing but it is rather moorish!

Prosecco with cherry brandy. It’s hard to see after a few of those 😁

Banana
Ice
amaretto
half and half (cream/milk)
pineapple juice

swirl chocolate sauce on the glass, blend and pour in, it’s divine (tastes just like sweet creamy banana)

Or strawberry daiquiri… white rum, strawberry syrup (lots of it!) frozen strawberries and blend!

Amaretto, vodka and cherry juice, shaken over ice with a squeeze of lime.

It's a bit like cherry Bakewell

I've just made (don't know what it's official name is)

Spiced rum (Dead Man's Fingers)
Iced tea
Soda water
Lots of squeezed lime plus wedges
Ice

A French 75:

Gin
Champagne (or Prosecco/Cava)
Lemon juice
Sugar syrup (dissolve some sugar in water)

That sounds great. I love sharp and sour type cocktails. I'm not a big cocktail drinker but find many are too sweet.

I like this with creme de cassis, Kir Royale I think it's called.

• Whatever Spirit you have kicking about (Whisky for us tonight)
• Milk
• Ice

Top with Squirty Cream, Caramel Sauce and broken up Cadbury Flake. Ridiculously indulgent but sooo good!

I’ve just made Cointreau with cranberry juice, lime juice and topped with soda. Don’t know what that’s called.

Prosecco
Can't remember the quantities, but delicious

I've shoved the following into a glass and it's pretty nice

White wine
Sparkling water
Crushed mint
Slice of lemon
Peach chunks (fresh not tinned!)

Bonus, the peach is actually yummy to eat as well.

If you've not keen on too sweet, this is a wee bit faffy but amazing.

I will never not want a gin gimlet - equal measures of gin and Rose's lime cordial. Delicious.

This sounds intriguing, I like a lime and soda. Is it not really strong?

We are having Nigella's poinsettia tomorrow - cranberry juice, cointreau and prosecco.
