Self employment tax question!

Sorry for such a boring question on Christmas Eve, but my accountant isn’t (understandably) responding.

I’m a self employed musician and I want to buy a new instrument. However, I bought a new instrument (different kind) earlier this year. Should I wait till the new tax year for the new purchase? How much of a difference would it make? I’m impatient and I want it now 😂!

Really depends on how much you’ve earned this year, what other expenses you have etc. I think only your accountant can advise you on this one.

Without giving it a lot of thought, unless you're spending more than £1m total, I can't see what difference it would make.

But as with all things tax, many caveats apply.

Definitely not more than a
million! But I guess I’ve spent as much as I’ve earned.
