Aldi Festive Puddings - too late?

Went to my local Aldi on Wednesday in search of a snow globe pudding or panna cotta star. There was absolutely nada except profiteroles despite the big sign saying they were now in store. My food catalogue says in store from 21st Dec too. Went to another Aldi today and nothing there either - really wanted one of these !

Has anyone had any luck the last few days?

We don’t normally host so I’ve never had any experience of buying Christmas food before really!

Neither of those in our local Aldi either! I’m a highly tempted to go back early tomorrow morning just in case, however.

My local Aldi had been absolutely raided today- no mince pies except ones with scruffy boxes that no-one wanted, no Christmas cheese (though plenty of other cheeses), no gold coins, only unpopular flavour of handmade crisps, no Irish cream, only small bottles of port, lots of swede but running out of the other traditional veg that was on offer end of aisle (but normal priced veg was in stock).

Bizarrely the chocolates section did have stock left, though. Maybe people felt it's more excessive so cut back on that?

You need to be in whatever shop it is at the crack of dawn . I’ve been in various M &S s from midweek looking for dressed crabs for the starters and seen none and my sister went at 6:30 this morning and got them .

@Floralnomad 6:30? That is commitment! 😄

tulips27 · 23/12/2022 20:25

Mind you I live about 40 minutes's travel from mine, factor in getting up and dressed and you'd be looking at a 5:30 a.m. start.

Lots in my local one, Skegness, yesterday.

Isseywith3witchycats · 23/12/2022 21:09

like you i had my heart set on the aldi panacotta star dessert went shopping yesterday and couldnt get one it must be very popular this year all they had was cheap gateauxs so went in iceland and got a black forest gateaux and a box of mini pattisirie desserts instead

tulips27 · 23/12/2022 21:12

Maybe there is still a chance tomorrow morning first thing? M&S also told me they restock so it's in place for the morning when I asked when to come in to be able to get coffee. I don't know when Aldi restock though, maybe someone who works there could say.

Edinvillian · 23/12/2022 21:15

May be a silly question but did you look in the freezer? I thought they were chilled until I spotted them in the freezer.

Isseywith3witchycats · 23/12/2022 21:16

i looked in chiller first and in every freezer they have no chance of getting one

mommybear1 · 23/12/2022 21:17

@tulips27 are you Midlands based? You have described the carnage exactly in both of the Aldi's I went too. I tried early morning and late evening I ended up at Tesco which seemed far better stocked.

tulips27 · 23/12/2022 21:21

No, I'm in the south but it's interesting to hear other places were like that, too.

BetterBee · 23/12/2022 21:22

The snow globes are in the seasonal aisle where I am. Lots left!

I got the pannacotta star yesterday and it was chilled not frozen.

Augustone · 23/12/2022 21:25

I have got a panacotta!! Stupidly excited about it too. I called in my local Aldi on the way home from work yesterday afternoon around 3pm and picked one up with some other bits and pieces.
I'm in North West England
