Does anywhere do same day glasses anymore?

I’ve just realised how much my eyesight has deteriorated, as I am now holding my phone at ams length with my glasses on in order to be able to see it.

Of course with Christmas around the corner, I would quite like to be able to see to read, do jigsaws, play board games, etc.

Is there anywhere likely to be able to do a same day service? It used to be the main selling point of Vision Express, but they seem to be several days now. I guess the easy alternative is off the shelf reading glasses, but my last pair needed a different prescription in each lense so I am assuming the same this time.

Don't think so. Remember when Vision Express opened and the whole Pitch was your glasses ready within the hour!?

Ace&Tate do a same day service but not for everything (ie don't think they do varifocals the same day)

Sounds like you might need an eye test as well so probably worth checking what's available first before visiting

Yes, I am old enough to remember when Bision Express launched and “glasses in 1 hour” was their unique selling point and the reason for their name.

Vision Express (Bison Express would be a burger joint I guess 😅)

Buy two different prescription pairs from Poundland and swap the lenses. Might keep you going until you get proper ones.
