Please inspire me with your best sausage roll recipes!

We’re doing a bake off of sausage rolls this Christmas and feel like I need to try a new exciting recipe - do you have any favourites?

I’m not a particularly experienced cook so nothing too tricky!

ready made puff pastry i mix made up sage and onion stuffing with the sausage meat lush

I like the blogger cherry menloves recipe. ( I had to type that name about 10 times!! )

I make it every year, cantorum remember everything in it but includes garlic...

I do the bog standard sausage meat and paxo stuffing. The stuffing absorbs the sausage fat and is quite delish. Save the very fine powder bits to drizzle (?) dredge? Over the raw pastry once it's been egg washed.

I also do sausage meat and finely diced bacon lard ones with tbsp breadcrumbs and a healthy dollop of apple sauce and/ or grated carrot. Pinch of cinnamon and plait the pastry.

Sausage meat, a tbsp of bread crumbs and thick cut marmalade is surprisingly good, add a spoon of cranberry sauce. Plait the pastry.

I make rough puff pastry for mine, but you could use ready made puff pastry.

To the pork sausage meat I add dried sage and thyme, and a little English mustard, finely crushed garlic and cooked finely chopped onion. If the sausage meat looks a little loose, I add a beaten egg to help bind it.

Delia Smiths Etty's sausage rolls is the recipe we use, and can be frozen, which is useful.

Short crust pastry for me, I chop some chestnuts and onion and mix in with the sausage meat.

Jus roll puff pastry and butchers sausage meat which is totally delicious! Going to add in a bit of caramelised red onion chutney to tomorrows batch but otherwise just keep it simple and let the flavours kf the sausage meat speak for themselves 😁

Shortcrust pastry
Beaten egg to glaze

I just made some today with cranberry sauce, sausage meat and puff pastry. Did them in air fryer recipie was from Becky excell on instagram, quick and easy!

Ready made puff pastry, plus plain sausage meat (from the butchers) mixed with:
2 tbsps caramelised onion chutney
Or
3 tsps Harissa paste

My freezer is full of bags of these all ready for Chrimbo. They are the best!
