Arranged for them to come over at 4pm. Dinner at 5pm.

They turn up shortly before 3pm asking when it will be ready. Er… 5pm?

My dad I’d fretting asking if ‘everything’ is in the oven yet. No because most things (like stuffing) don’t need two hours in the oven (unless sad charcoal balls are your thing).

Kept going into the kitchen to look at the food and fiddle with things. Up. Down. Up. Down.

Then constantly asking when it would be ready.

I posted before about them parking on my neighbour’s driveway and how they have no boundaries. I put a wheelie bin on the driveway so they had to park on the (pretty much empty) road. So, they had a long moan about that.

My mum squeaks her shoes. Constantly rotating her foot so her shoes make a squeaking noise. CONSTANTLY.

Anyway, they’ve just left. They were here three hours and I am EXHAUSTED.

There’s other stuff. Stately Homes type stuff. It still upsets me but I try to act like my adulthood is a clean slate.

Please tell me about the stuff your family does that drives you insane. Treat it like therapy.

It seems just by breathing we manage to drive some of our children insane !
