This is mine, my husband gave it to me around 5 years ago, nothing has come close.

A camera - it was a very basic Kodak flip camera and I loved it.

it set me up for a lifetime of loving photography.

Mine is my keyboard. It was a Christmas present when I was 56. Nothing else has come close. It was also probably my most expensive present ever so it doesn't equate to a sellotape dispenser in any way I'm afraid.

I also love and adore my coffee maker and my panini maker.

666roses · 22/12/2022 18:23

It's not about the cost, over the years DH has got me many expensive presents but my sellotape dispenser is my all time favourite as it's just so handy, he obviously used it before wrapping it up for me.

My cat. DH had claimed to hate cats, he said he was allergic to them. So I started the long process of trying to find a small dog which was cat like.

On Christmas morning he gave me a list of Siamese cat breeders, because he had been to Harrods’ pet department and the girl he spoke to told him they would be the best for our circumstances. And she/ he said we had to have two ( no argument from me).

We all lived together for 19 very happy years. DH antipathy lasted until the first morning , when two tiny purr boxes announced their wish to make friends.

My kindle paperwhite. From my parents 10 years ago.

My roller skates in 1982. They were blue with a rainbow on the sides. I was so happy that Christmas, and spent the entire holiday roller skating around the estate with my friends who also had the same ones.

A red pram when I was about 6. It had a tiny tears doll in it wearing clothes that my Mum had knitted. Loved it! I'm 54 now and still remember it fondly

Can I add this it’s my own present to myself I’m on my own now 2nd hand route but priceless to me my 14 007 novels the 1978 editions I was forced to get rid off by my toxic family. I thought it would take years to re get them a couple for Christmas I thought. It took six weeks and I’ve got the lot. Still in there posting paper for me to wrap Christmas morning,. I’m can’t wait they’ll be under the tree.

Magical Theatre. It used magnets to move the characters around. It had a working spotlight, scenery, and came with scripts but I preferred to make my own. I wanted it so much and then it lived up to the hype!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2022 19:46

My grandad made my sister and I wooden caravans for our Sindy dolls. He also made us a market stall and my nana stocked it with tiny pots of (real) jam etc.

Otherwise, I remember a pair of brown ankle boots from about 1987 extremely fondly! Never managed to find any quite the same.

Swimawayyy · 22/12/2022 20:21

MrsBungle · 22/12/2022 20:22
