Effortless Sleep Method: The Incredible New Cure for Insomnia and Chronic Sleep Problems amzn.eu/d/5RsREhj The effortless sleep method

What changed thing for you ?

I think partly the menapause, perhaps I am through the worse of it now as I’m nearly 54.

I put a pillow barrier up between my DH and my pillows and this seems to create my own zone for me to cocoon in.

We bought a super king size bed.

Staying up as late as possible, until I am pretty much falling asleep walking up the stairs to bed. Then psychologically I think I’ll conk out and may sleep through the 2 to 4.30 am danger zone.

Not going on my phone in the evenings.

My sleep was so bad before for many years. 3 or 4 hours was good going maybe as a three hour chunk and then later on an extra hour.

PikachusSmarterBrother · 22/12/2022 17:49

Deep joy - I couldn't sleep last night, and my new fucking Apple Watch kept buzzing and telling me to walk around for a minute once per hour 😠

buddyb5 · 22/12/2022 18:25

Phenergan has really helped me the past few nights, you can buy it over the counter.

belowfrozen · 23/12/2022 11:31

HRT solved mine

Just recommending these.
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B37YMQVK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Seemingly most people are pretty deficient and deficiency causes sleeping problems. I’d normally be asleep now (after years of hideous peri menopausal insomnia) but, due to COL crisis, I changed to a cheaper brand that are absolutely useless. I’ve just re ordered these, they will be arriving tomorrow. 🙏🏻

Just ordered these. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

For those who are able/willing to try podcasts, I would recommend 'Sleep Cove' on Spotify. There are 2/3 specifically for Insomnia (you do need to fast forward through the first 3 mins as this is where the ads are) but I rarely make it through the whole episode without falling asleep.

Any tips for those who have partners that are snorers, but are able to wear earplugs? His snoring isn't particularly loud / doesn't wake me, but it is very tough to hear when you can't sleep!

AnythingConsidered · 24/12/2022 09:56

That's meant to say unable to wear ear plugs. 🙄

Drsmoot let me know how you get on with the magnesium as I’ve ordered those specific ones too

MagentaRocks · 24/12/2022 17:36

I would give anything to be able to sleep. I have learned to function on very little sleep. A good night for me is 4 hours. Usually I get 1 or 2 hours dozing. Will try the magnesium. I will give anything a try.

MagentaRocks · 25/12/2022 01:30

Still awake. I need to be up in 4 hours to prep for guests. Looks like it is going to be a bad one tonight unless I get to sleep in the next 20 minutes and then get more than an hour or two.

Foxytail · 25/12/2022 12:10

I tired the magnesium last night and I think it helped
either that or the beer !

Foxytail · 25/12/2022 12:10

People that take magnesium for sleep
do you take it just before bed ?

GuinnessLover · 25/12/2022 12:12

Thought this was going to be a post about the song being played a lot after Maxi Jazz died. Was ready for war 😅 insomnia is awful OP.

Nytol...

Aidagreenwhistle · 25/12/2022 19:08

HRT worked for me. It took about a week. I couldn’t believe it and am annoyed I didn’t get it earlier as living on 3 hours sleep while working 45 hours a week plus commute was soul destroying.
