Google has nothing.

It’s wiped £400+ from my wages. Really can’t afford whatever it is this month.

What is it? Never had it before.

Do you have an email address for your payroll department to ask?

I know that NT means no tax payable. I'm not sure about dedn but my guess would be deduction net. So possibly deduction net tax not payable, so a net amount of a deduction. I think you'll need to ask payroll what it's actually for.

When I google deduction NT it says it's an HMRC tax code stating no tax should be clained on that amount.

Check the tax code on this month's payslip against previous months. If it has changed, that could be it. Do you have an outstanding student loan and have just hit the threshold for repayments? If you are in the pension scheme, check that they have been correctly taking deductions for that, it could be an adjustment.

Otherwise, call the payroll people and ask.

Does the deduction take you below the national minimum wage for the number of hours worked in the month? If so, then by law they are not allowed to do that.
