Lost my bank card ...help

I've lost my bank card
Searched high and low but can't find it
I've contacted my bank who have sent me a new one but won't get it till after Christmas
I have payments due to come off my card with clearpay ..what do I do ?
Will I get charged ?

Is it a debit card? If so, it's linked to your bank account and the payments may still go. Call the bank and ask.

If not, tell the people expecting to be paid what has happened and explain that you'll pay when the new card is activated.

It is yes but I didn't have to put in any account numbers etc so I'm unsure how things work

Payments don't come off your card, they come out of your bank account (where the money is). Your card is just a way of spending the money in your account.

What's clearpay?

Found this on website so does this mean they won't come out of bank ?
Do you think it's possible to do a bank transfer ..I've never missed a payment

Ah, is it because instalments are due and they are charged to your card?

Looks like you need to let Clearpay know and they will presumably have other methods to ensure you don't miss your payment dates?

Yes they are charged to my card
I just don't want it to affect my credit rating
I've cancelled my card so I can't pay
Idiot me should have quickly paid them before I cancelled but I was panicking that someone might use it

The page you're on, on the CP website, explains what to do. Can you not add another card?

The only way I can pay is if they give me an account number and I can do a bank transfer
I've just sent them a message asking if I can do that so fingers crossed

It also says that if you have no other way to pay, then Active Payments are delayed for 2 weeks - so as long as you've notified them you should be fine?

@loveisagirlnameddaisy thanks I just panic as I've read reviews and people are saying they still got £6.50 charges

With your bank if you just order a replacement then your lost card would still be active (this is useful if you have broken the card etc as opposed to actually lost and potentially with a fraudster)

But if fully cancelled then the card will be rejected

For clearpay can you use internet banking and transfer from your account into clearpay?

Not sure about that as I don't use CP. I'd just do all you can to update your details on the app, and also notify them through instant chat ,if they have anything like that? Good luck!

I think I left it in M&S I've been back and they say nothing handed in but I remember taping my card but my hands were full so I put card on the side where your basket goes ...then can't remember after that

Oh, you'd better call the bank and tell them where and when your last purchase was. Some little scamps find card and go on contactless spending sprees.

They should refund you.
