Man going through a divorce, very acrimonious, still living in the family home, with his wife and kids, while sale completes , which is due in Jan.

He has a lady friend (his words) who has hinted she'd like more but he insists it's just friends and he's "nipped that in the bud".

Wife is going to her parents with DC for Christmas, so he's offered to cook lunch for lady friend at his house.

How is that "nipping it in the bud"? He's kidding himself, right?

This is confusing for poor lady friend. I think man should wait until he's moved out of the marital home before deciding whether to make any moves on lady friend.

she wants more but he wants a shag

PearlclutchersInc · 21/12/2022 13:34

If this is you, do you want more. If you do move on. Sounds like an awful scenario.

If you don't want more, don't have any better offers for Christmas day and don't care about sitting in another woman's home still move on. Still sounds like an awful scenario.

CornishGem1975 · 21/12/2022 13:34

Who are you in this scenario?

Checkedtowel · 21/12/2022 13:42

I'm the person the man was chatting to at a social thing last night.

Spot on!

Poor lady friend and poor wife.

Lady friend is being led on, he probably just wants a shag and an ego boost, and it's still his wife's home as well as half her house

Just wrong on both levels

It's not me but this is what I think about it too.

The way he tells it, wife has behaved appallingly and the reason the house isn't yet sold is because she's chased buyers away, but obviously I've only heard one version.

Man is lying through his teeth to present himself in good light.

Maybe but there's no reason he'd want to do that to me. No reason to tell me at all. I just asked what his plans are for Christmas, wondering if he was going to be alone tbh.

He doesn't want to be on his own at Christmas and yes he fancies a shag.
It's loud and clear.
Don't bother trying to read anything else into it, you're just wasting your time .
