Chances of DPD delivering before Saturday…

Dc1 added something to their Christmas list (which had a total of 2 things on) I know that being nearly a teenager they don’t believe etc but I still wanted to get it as they have asked for so little…

I spent an hour hunting for it high and found one place which has it in stock and ordered paying £10 for next day delivery with Dpd this was Monday…I’ve been checking the emails and Dpd are still saying we are awaiting your parcel…

it’s not going to turn up is it?

I wouldn’t be very confident.

I ordered a PS5 last week and paid for the two day delivery. Yeah… it’s in the ‘unexpected delay’ that does not appear to have been unexpected in the bloody least.

I’ve asked for it to be delivered to my local collection point to see if that increases the chances of it leaving the sodding depot. I’d go to the bloody depot but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

I was not reassured by the text message I received on making this change saying they’d deliver it to the dry cleaners on my high street yesterday.

Time travel would probably be useful for clearing the backlog.

In case anyone is wondering, switching to a local collection point seemed to make a difference. After days of the ‘unexpected issue’ message, I got updates/information about it being in the depot etc and it is now on its way to the collection point.

Might be a coincidence and they’d have delivered it to my house today too. But it doesn’t feel like they would have for various reasons.

So, if there’s a collection point near you, it might be worth trying that.

Call the company you ordered from. This is their fault. DPD can't deliver a parcel they haven't been given. If it's sent tonight on a next day delivery you'll get it tomorrow.

I used DPD to send some Christmas presents thinking it would be more reliable than Royal Mail at the moment.
Sent off parcel last Friday, and received a note on Monday to say as the recipient wasn’t in when they tried to deliver, the package would be sent to their local collection point for collection the next day. I then received a note on Tuesday about an ‘issue’ saying the package would be ready for collection on Wednesday. I updated the recipient, but was amazed to have a DPD delivery yesterday - lo, my parcel of presents returned to me! 😮Unbelievably bad service.
OP I do hope your present arrives…but you might want to get something as back up! 🤞
