People in the South East, are you without water? How long has it been off for?

So our water went off yesterday apparently everyone in my town is without and so is the next (larger) town over. Inadequate water stations are being set up. I'm just interested to see how wide-ranging this problem is. We're Sussex/Kent borders area.

I'm in Kent but Thames Water and we have water around here. I heard it's Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas - not good, hope it gets sorted soon!

I am in Sussex and we’ve had no water since Sunday.

Lividity · 20/12/2022 12:29

We’re elsewhere but had none for about eight hours yesterday and it was harder than I’d have thought, even though I tend towards the prepper.

Good luck!

geogteach · 20/12/2022 14:10

Husband works (medical) in Haywards Heath and they have none

Namechangekl · 20/12/2022 14:14

Im in Tunbridge Wells and there’s been no water for days. It’s absolutely shocking and South East water have been abysmal.

TeeBee · 20/12/2022 14:16

I'm West Sussex, we have no water problems at all.

My parents are in Broadstairs and have very low water pressure. Mum is keeping buckets filled just in case!

TintinHadToBeMale · 20/12/2022 14:23

@NoWater had a thread in AIBU about it - said they were off 6 days.

I do!

Yes we are on our 6th day without water. Utter disgrace!

crosshatching · 20/12/2022 14:42

I've just seen the thread in AIBU hope the water is back on in Wales. 6 days without for some people is just terrible. The official response has been dreadful.

We've had some water come through just now but it's pretty dirty. Still I've managed to run some in the bath so at least we can flush the toilets now.

Blimey. We lost our water for two hours due to a burst pipe at the weekend and we thought that was bad. I'm never complaining about Thames Water again (though it was probably a less complex repair).

JackandVera · 21/12/2022 20:32

We are in Sussex and have had no water since Sunday. We are supposed to be getting it back tomorrow. It is dismal! Shitty toilets, buying loads of water and bleach and my hair hasn't been washed since last Saturday. It's fucking awful.

NoelNoNoel · 21/12/2022 20:50

I am so sorry to hear this. We got ours back on last night. I was able to drive half an hour to my sons to fill up many water bottles and buckets etc. Do you have anyone you ask?

Eve · 21/12/2022 20:55

Hampshire, southern water , lots of burst pipes and low pressure for a few days.

our hosepipe ban only finished in Nov 🙄

RagzRebooted · 21/12/2022 20:59

The town I work in has been without water all week (may well be OP's Town) and one of the workplace sites has been on and off. Colleagues have had no water all week. I've been off work so a bit out of touch, but I'm in tomorrow and hopefully will have water because I don't fancy not being able to flush the loo or wash my hands (plus it's a GP surgery so kind of need to able to wash hands properly!).

QuentininQuarantino · 21/12/2022 21:49

runbridge wells and the Tory MP has said “there’s no end in sight” which has terrified me!

crosshatching · 21/12/2022 22:21

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear so many people are still struggling. We have some water but still a bit discoloured. It's ridiculous it really is.

LiftyLift · 21/12/2022 22:25

Wear Sussex here and we had very low pressure for a day and cloudy water, but thankfully it hasn’t went off. Less than a mile away it was off for a day, businesses had to close, nurseries closed etc.

NoWater · 21/12/2022 22:26

They say water supply is intermittent on their website but it's actually non-existent where we are. Those who get any supply fill their bath tubs and put on their dish washers so there is zero water left for people like us.

PLEASE PLEASE don't over use so there is some left for us too🙏

Postgraddope · 21/12/2022 22:38

We live on Kent and Sussex border and it is a complete shitshow ! We have water but my daughter who lives in a large East Sussex town has been without since Sunday !
She is lucky because she can stay here with her toddler but we have been to her flat today to give water containers to her neighbours who are both vulnerable.
Local MPs and town councils have been bloody useless !
No idea when it will be sorted and there hasn’t been a reasonable explanation given by SE water .
