Siblings that hate each other?

Anyone else have children that hate each other? My boys are 8 and 10 and absolutely hate each other, they constantly need separating (difficult as they share a room) and have never liked each other or got on. Has anyone else been in this situation and how did you manage it as it’s making life at home very difficult (only those who have been in this situation please) Please tell me if you had children that didn’t get on growing up that it’s got better as they’ve got older?

posted in parenting but didn’t get any responses so reposting here

I have a big age gap between dc2 & dc3, and dc2 has ASD.
They hated each other. For years. Dd purposely irritated ds, and because of his asd had violent irrational outbursts over silly things she did to wind him up - think clicking fingers, slurping drinks, funny looks etc, I couldn't leave them in the same room, it was a constant battle to stay one step ahead of them.

Fast forward now, ds is at Uni and comes home regularly. Dd is now secondary school age.
They bloody adore each other!
They are so close.
Dd would stay up till midnight if she knew he was coming home. Ds says she is now a person you can have a proper conversation with. I'd have never believed it a few years ago but it makes me warm and fuzzy to see how they are together now.
