Etsy seller not responding to messages, what can I do?

I bought an item on 10th of November, the Etsy seller took 10 days to despatch saying they'd had covid. I have an Evri tracking code which says they've received the item but it's delayed. I'm now in my 6th week of waiting and the Etsy seller is ignoring my requests that they speak with Evri at their end. I want the item, not a refund as it's a vintage porcelain ornament and I won't find the same again. What would you do in these circumstances?

I would just wait for Evri to deliver the parcel for me, or chase it up myself using the tracking code. I doubt there's much the seller can do.

Evri is far more likely to respond to the seller as their contract is with them. OP, have you contacted Etsy/PayPal (if you paid with PayPal)? Evri basically seem to be dropkicking a lot of parcels into the abyss so you might find that a refund is the only realistic option.

I had an evri parcel from etsy, sent by seller on 26th November, it arrived today. They have massive backlogs because of the strikes etc. Not much your seller will be able to do unfortunately.

Last week, I received a parcel from Evri that I'd been waiting for since the first week of Nov. I'd already had a refund for it as Evri said they'd lost it, but it turned up at the end of last week! So bloody disorganised.

There’s nothing more that you can do. But you can be kind to the seller. They don’t want this any more than you do. It’s annihilating small businesses.

it’s likely at the bottom of a pile awaiting delivery.

@Christmasinbed Hi Im an etsy seller and not responding to messages is very bad form. You should open a case, go to your orders and it should show you clearly how to do this. You will be able to get a refund directly from Etsy, then Etsy can claim the money off the seller.

sorry just saw you want the item, I guess wait until it eventually turns up which it most likely will. The seller should still be contact though.

Sellers have no way of contacting Evri at the moment either. Live chat is useless and the phone goes unanswered.
All you can do is wait until the backlog is cleared
