Passport photo question

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had a passport photo rejected recently, and if so what happened? I'm just asking because it now takes so long to get a new passport that I'm wondering whether it's worthwhile going to a shop instead of a booth to get it done, in case a faulty photo results in the process taking even longer. I read somewhere though that they just email you and you can send another online straight away, is that right?

We spent ages trying to get a shadow-free photo for DH's renewal before giving up and going to Jessops.

I didn't even bother trying to take photos for DD's. Her renewal took 8 days about a month ago.

DS got his passport 10 days after doing a digital renewal at the post office earlier this month, they asked if he was planning to go abroad within the following 10 weeks as that was the current estimated processing time.

Photo shops can usually check whether a photo will be accepted by the passport office.
