I'd like to send a friend of mine some flowers as she is having a crappy time of it at the moment. Can anyone recommend a company where the bouquet which arrives actually looks like the ones on the website?
Or any other ideas for companies which do lovely things to send her?

In the UK? I highly recommend Freddies Flowers. The flowers and foliage arrive lying separately in the box, the recipient puts them together in the bouquet but it comes with a guide on how to do that. They last for ages as well. I've stopped sending any other flowers, these are so consistently good (and I get them for myself too)!

Yes the UK. Looked up Freddie's Flowers and it seems you have to sign up for a subscription and can't just send a one off delivery.

No, you can definitely send single ones - I've just sent them to my mum, best friend and MIL for Xmas. Maybe once you've got a login?

I've always enjoyed flowers I've had from Bloom & Wild.

peppermum60 · 17/12/2022 19:30

I've used Cornish Blooms a lot and the flowers are beautiful

bloom & wild as they last ages

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 17/12/2022 19:32

Marks and Spencer - ordered some last week, arrived next day (tracked delivery with Yodel) and from what recipient said, they were just as shown on the website.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 17/12/2022 19:35

Google flowers from The Isles of Scilly - I can’t remember the exact name of the company I use but they’re based on Martinstown. Consistently beautiful flowers that last ages & reasonably priced for what you get. I mainly use them in Spring/Summer for narcissi but all year round is great. I sent pinks to my Aunty & she said they were fantastic.

Sprig1 · 17/12/2022 19:38

Why don't you Google for a florist local to her and give them a call. They will be able to deliver and you will get a much nicer bunch for your money.

MadisonAvenue · 17/12/2022 19:39

Bloom & Wild have never let me down when I’ve sent them, I was also recently sent a box and some of the blooms lasted for three weeks. They were absolutely beautiful!

Freddie’s Flowers have always been disappointing. I subscribed for a while but every box I received had damaged flowers and I was lucky if they lasted a week.

closingscore · 17/12/2022 19:39

I've had flowers from bloom and wild a few times and they've been a straggly mess that looks nothing like the photo on their website.

If I'm sending flowers I tend to contact a local florist near the recipient and order online from them or by phone.

Candleabra · 17/12/2022 19:41

I’ve been very disappointed with bloom and wild. Had two bunches from different friends. Both were in poor condition which is a shame as I love flowers and I know they’re expensive. I usually try to find a local florist to the recipient and have them delivered.

Spanielsarepainless · 17/12/2022 19:41

I use Scilly Flowers, on St Martin's, regularly. This time of year it's scented narcissi.

I have also used Cornish Blooms.

I would recommend either.

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/12/2022 19:43

Haute Florist have been excellent - I've used them several times and had rave reviews from the recipients. I received flowers from Arena Flowers recently and they were very fresh and beautifully arranged. Don't use eflorist - I've received some from them today. The arrangement is poor and some of the flowers are dead. M&S use Yodel to deliver and they've damaged things in transit more than once.

scoobydoo1971 · 17/12/2022 19:44

A client sent to flowers from M&S as a thank you. They were beautiful and have lasted ages.

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/12/2022 19:52

I've always recommended that people use local florists on here before, but I would only do that if I knew and liked their style - you want to see photos of their actual work.

Serenata flowers are also good.

Beefcurtains79 · 18/12/2022 17:45

Floom are amazing, they source local florists and arrangements for you.
