IBS and Nortriptyline

Posting here for traffic!

After having some investigations a few weeks ago I've been prescribed Nortriptyline for my IBS. It seemed to be ok at the beginning but now two weeks in I'm feeling sick after eating (doesn't matter what I eat) and I'm really dizzy/spaced out.

I've got no idea if this is the new medication or something unrelated but it seems a bit of a coincidence.

Just wondering if anyone else has experience of Nortriptyline?

Sorry just to add I'm seeing the consultant for a follow up on Thursday and I also take Citalopram for anxiety but he knows this so I'm guessing it's an ok combination.

How did you get on with the Nortriptyline?
I was prescribed this earlier in 2022. Tried it for 6 weeks or so but had the same spaced out feeling you have described. Tried it 2 other times during last year but kept getting the same weird feeling so stopped taking it. I had to stop as my job involves driving and I didn’t feel safe feeling so woozy headed.
I went back to mebeverine and am having more luck with that.

Sorry, I didn’t see the bit about Citalopram? I was prescribed this for my anxiety but was too scared to take it incase it made my IBS worse.
How do you get on with that?
I didn’t think you could take an SSRI and TCA together but maybe I’m wrong there?
