NHS recruitment after job offer

I was offered a job with a different NHS trust and accepted verbally at the start of December

I haven't heard anything since and Trac hasn't been updated. I work for the NHS and know recruitment is notoriously slow but should I be worried if I haven't heard anything nearly 2 weeks since the job offer? Should I contact them to see what's going on or should I just be patient?
I haven't handed in my notice where I am yet, but I am impatient!

When this has happened to me in the past it’s either been due to admin or contacting people listed for a reference.

Congratulations on your new role.

Thanks @TabithaTittlemouse
My references haven't been contacted yet.
I was wondering if it might be due to staff sickness.

We are in the process of recruiting with NHS. Interviewed and offered person job 4 weeks ago. We have references but have to wait from OccHealth and disclosure checks which are seemingly taking between 4 and 6 weeks.
I've spoken to the girl we offered the job to a couple of times to reassure her it's all still going ahead.

Thanks @curlycat
I am quite prepared for it to take a few months but I think what's worrying me is not hearing anything at all, even if someone would just got in touch with me to reassure me that it's still going ahead then I would appreciate that!

Hello, I have recently been offered a job at NHS (clerical), I accepted the verbal offer which was 30 hours for ENT surgery, however got a letter offering me the same post but different hours (37.5) and a different surgery (neurosurgery) and a different location. The offer that is in writing is much better than the verbal one. Could they have made a mistake?
