Quick Advice needed PLEASE!

I'm on Facebook Marketplace with a washing machine for sale. A guy has just said he'll take it and pay me now. He can't pay when he picks up because he's sending a man with a van. I think I've heard of this before as some sort of scam to get your details or am I being paranoid? So, basically, is this a scam? Thanks for any answers!

Why not ask him to pay the driver and the driver pay you cash? Or sell to someone you’re happy to sell to?

Scam because you can't prove he's received the goods, so he can claim it back. Just say cash on collection only.

No money.... No washing machine.
end of story. Don't even consider him if no cash.
just wait on another buyer.

I did have someone else interested but still waiting to hear from her, so I bought time by telling him that I needed to let her know I was going to sell it. Waited for replies here and now I've told him she's decided to come to pick it up first thing with cash.

The scam I've heard is that the guy with the van will bring the money....

The reason I paused for thought is I'm moving on Saturday and I really would like it to go before then and of course, some money would be helpful. I'll wait to see what happens tomorrow but I know someone without a machine - I'd been told that he had one now, which was wrong - and if I get nothing by lunchtime I'm going to let him have it for nothing because he's a decent man who has even less money than I have and that's quite difficult to do!
