Has anyone else got this awful swollen throat/really bad cough thing?

I'm really poorly :( my tonsils have swollen to a size that makes swallowing quite difficult. I cough and it seems to trigger being sick super easily. It's awful. I'm feverish at night. I'm fed up of this, I had covid for 3 months, I only just recovered and now I'm ill again.

Yes i am on the third week of it and now all my family have it too. Its the coughing in the night thats getting to me (my own, that is).

Me. I can't stop when I start coughing and keep peeing myself

Yes, this is exactly what I have, right down to the night fevers. Waking up in a freezing cold house absolutely drenched in sweat for the past 2 nights! It's really horrid.

Yes. Had it 2 weeks ago and it's hanging around. Am knackered! Feels like everyone's got it (work in a school).

Same here. Past three nights drenched in sweat, unusual for me. Started with an awful throat for two days. Had to dose myself up and carry on but felt dreadful. Had something else a few weeks before, which I suspected was covid. Hoping everyone feels better soon 💐

Yes me. Tuesday night completely fine. Wednesday morning temp 42 and can't even get in the shower. I am broken

All my family have had it for the last two weeks, I was really worried about them tbh as we all tend to power through, but they all spent multiple days in bed.

I thought I'd got away with it, but I woke up in the night with the beginnings of a sore throat, hoping it's the wine.

I hope you all feel better soon, it really has knocked a lot of people for six x

Still got the cough. Turned out to be Covid. I feel awful about it as I thought the cough was just the back end of a cold, so I've spread it to goodness know who.

Me, although after 2 weeks of an annoying cough (that made me retch) I've come down with an awful flu like illness. So achy, temp over 39c. Just awful

Same here, sending well wishes everyone. Feel so upset as meant to be on my boyfriend's birthday weekend that I booked and organised, planning to leave tomorrow. On my fourth day of illness and it's not getting better, the night sweats horrible. Praying I turn a corner by tomorrow and get to go!

My 12 year old is laid up in bed. Third day of fever. Really, really unlike him 😢.

Sore throat, fever and chills, snot o rama, cough. Day 3 and now testing +ve when I'd thought it was just a really bad cold

Yup. I hear it is a 3 week thing from those who had it. 6 more days to go...

Yes, got it here too, I think. Started off as Hand, Foot and Mouth that DD brought home from nursery for me. GP reckons I've now got a secondary infection- Strep A!

Been off work 2 weeks.

Very much usually struggle on with coughs and colds in the winter but this has floored me.

On antibiotics now, fever broken but still poorly.

Really swollen glands
Throat so painful to swallow
Aches and pains
Fever
Elevated heart rate
Night sweats
