Time wasters on FB

I’ve been advertising some tickets for sale that I can no longer use. Have had 15 people express an interest and then the vast majority not respond when I reply back almost immediately to say they are still available. A couple of time wasters asking questions and then disappearing at the point that bank/PayPal details are given. When selling items I always get a small number of time wasters but this is something else

Do these sorts of people really have nothing better to do with their time?!?

Lots of tyre kickers on both FB marketplace and Ebay. It can be very frustrating.

FB is hilarious sometimes. Someone kindly offers something for free and you get the cheeky sods saying they’ll take it if it can be delivered to them- for free!

Yeah I hate FB marketplace

I have a pair of boots, very expensive, that DD wore once and grew out of. I've put them on for £40, other people sell them for over £100, but I really can't be arsed with posting what with Christmas delays and postal strikes.

It says on my advert they are collection only, I can't deliver, I don't wish to send and they must be collected asap, no holds.

I've had 40 responses.

Most were "can you send to x" , can you deliver (45 minutes away in one case). Will I send and accept £30 including postage.

The best one was the lady who said she would buy them but return them to me for a refund if her DD didn't end up liking them. I pointed out I'm not a bloody catalogue.

The best one was "they say they are a 5, are they definitely a 5, do you think I could wear them when I am a size 6". The feck would I know?

I've almost given up at this point.

But you get it with sellers too, I've asked about a couple of things that I've never had a response to

Yeah I’m totally with you on this OP, I’ve got a few things for sale on there and have so far had 8 messages asking for my postcode (which is on the listing) then just not replying after I tell them, I just don’t get it, I would always just send a cursory “okay, it’s a bit far but thank you” etc. and how about the messages “available?” No “hello” etc first, drives me mad, just no semblance of polite interaction.

To be honest I haven’t found marketplace that bad. I’ve sold a dozen baby items in the last few months and I’d say I’ve had maybe 4 time wasters.
With the tickets I’ve advertised them on a local group and its been terrible. Will have to just get over having wasted money on them rather than dealing with more fb nonsense.
