Surgeons on standby to make beds!!

Due to the strike and their patients being cancelled, apparently our surgeons are supposed to be available to help us make beds etc. 🤣🤣🤣 I would pay good money to see them do that. And mabybe give marks out if 10 for their corners!

Yes I am. But I'm not striking, though I voted for it just to support everyone else.

Though as people are now phoning in, and potentially leaving the ward unsafe. I do not support this strike at all.

Which trust is this? I’m a surgeon and amazed that they are being asked to do this . Would volunteer though and wouldn’t have an issue with doing it.

I thought you had beef with the government not surgeons?

It's no laughing matter wards are not staffed.

The best medics I've worked with have chipped in with other tasks in emergencies. I'll never forget the psychiatrist who served a meal while I was managing a patient having a seizure at one end of the ward and my colleagues were helping a suicidal lady at the other end. We are all a team.

Let's not downgrade nursing to "making beds" though. Nursing is a skilled clinical profession.

Most nurses support the strike, in my experience.
