Or if it even would?
Back in August my brother paid for the inscription of our mums headstone by cheque. Today I got an email from the funeral director who made the arrangements letting me know the cheque bounced and the invoice remains unpaid. While my brother dealt with the payment I was their main point of contact when the funeral was arranged so they only have my contact info.
I text my brother about it (he’s working abroad right now) and he checked his online banking and confirmed the date left his account. I emailed the funeral director back confirming the date it was made and asking them to confirm the matter is now settled. He’s now just text again to say it‘s actually appearing twice on his statement but as far as he can tell it’s two payments that have left his account.
Would a bounced cheque show twice on a statement, maybe as leaving his account then going back in? It’s the only thing I can think of that would account for it. Google isn’t being much use, figured someone here might know.
