Gel nails advice

My older DDs (15 & 13) would like gel nail manicures over Christmas. I barely file mine so am not sure what it involves. I've googled, but I'm not clear on how easy it is to remove gel polish. If they had it done early next week, would it be gone/be able to be removed by Jan 3rd?

Thanks

what happens is it stays on the nail until the nail grows out. So generally people get them removed/replaced/filled in every 3 weeks ago because they start to look unsightly. You can remove them at home yourself but need to kit (not expensive), have a look on YouTube because it will show you how to do it.

A good gel manicure should last 2-3 weeks. You can remove it at home, but it involves buying things in and having a bit of knowledge of what you’re doing, so I would book a removal appointment. If they get them done early next week a removal appt on 2 Jan would be perfect. If you’re not sure where to look/prices, try the website Treatwell - you can book directly and read reviews.

If you got shellac done it'll last two weeks and can be removed at home with an acetone remover.

Are they easy enough to remove with a kit? If they can't get it off they'll end up in isolation when back at school which is the bit I'm worried about.

Ah, crossed post. A removal appointment or shellac sounds workable. Thanks

All the times I have had mine done, removal is included in the price.
Don't pick it off as it really damages the nail.

Why not book an appointment for application and then removal? That way your daughter's nails will not be damaged.

2-3 weeks?! My gel polish lasts 6 weeks, and I only have it re-done then due to the growth!

Really? I’m so jealous! If I get 3 weeks out of mine I consider it good value. I do have crap nails though (which is why I only get it done occasionally and always get it removed properly).
