We have been looking a holidays next year.
We have found a lovely resort
We can either go 10 nights all inclusive in a room with pool view and balcony (with table and chairs )
Or 7 nights all inclusive with swim up room (patio with loungers and access to swimming pool from room)

What do we pick?
What would you pick ?

10 nights. We had a swim up room for a few nights and it was a lovely treat but would prefer a longer holiday.

I would be asking how sunbeds are allocated. I'd rather have 10 nights but if that means you have morons dropping towels on beds at 6am I'd go for swim up as you'll have your own sunbeds to use then. Lots of high end resorts allocate them to prevent the AM rush so I'd be asking that question x

What’s drawing you to a swim up room? I’ve stayed at a couple of places where they had them and yes, you did have your own loungers but the rooms were in shade after lunchtime and that’s not what I’d want on that kind of holiday. I’d be making my decision after a very good look at satellite pictures to see where the swim up rooms were and reading trip advisor reviews that mention sun loungers.

Sounds rather like where we are heading in Crete !! We went for less days and the swim up rooms!!
We had swim up last year and it's 'hard' to go back from !!

10 days over 7, for sure.

Verite1 · 13/12/2022 22:55

If the resort is still really nice I would go for 10 days and longer holiday.

Lcb123 · 13/12/2022 22:56

If I had 10 days I’d go to two different hotels. We did 10 days in Mauritius this year for honeymoon and wish we’d staying in two places

tattychicken · 13/12/2022 22:56

Could you do 10 days but see if you can upgrade to the swim up room for eg 2 or 3 days?

toffeeapple77 · 13/12/2022 22:58

10, though I've never experienced a swim up room to know if it's worth it?

TheCraicDealer · 13/12/2022 22:59

I’d go for the shorter holiday with the swim up room. Unless we make a real effort to plan loads of daytrips by day 5 or 6 I’m a bit bored on all inclusive holidays, eating at the same restaurants 3 times a day, sitting round the pool etc.

The other benefit of a swim up room is there’s usually a bit of space between you and other guests which I like versus the crowding round the main pool.

Go for 10 days. I had a swim up room once and the pool was freezing so I didn't use it. Incidentally, that was in Greece.

TokyoSushi · 13/12/2022 23:02

We had swim up room this summer, it was ok, but I wouldn't cut my holiday short for it, go for the 10 nights!

ExplodingCarrots · 13/12/2022 23:05

After my recent holiday to Cyprus where my swim up decking was permanently in the shade and pool ice cold and unusable I vote for 10 days.

Rosalindisafuckingnightmare · 13/12/2022 23:08

Also had very cold pool water on recent Greek holiday! How old are the DC? Is the swim up for them or you?

ZenNudist · 13/12/2022 23:11

10 days.

summer788 · 13/12/2022 23:23

PollyPeePants · 13/12/2022 23:27

EveEveander · 15/12/2022 05:03

10 nights

User175435643 · 15/12/2022 05:18

I barely go in the pool so 10 days

Greensky90 · 15/12/2022 05:48

10 days get your moneys worth.
