Shooting pain in ribs

I've got a chest infection so I'm coughing a lot. Got antibiotics, feel much better but I'm still coughing, cant lay down, walk fast etc.

I have a dull ache in my ribs and back since this which feels like the ache you get in your muscles when you havent used them in a while.

But since this afternoon, the pain is severe but only in one area, like a knife is twisting below my left ribs underneath my breast and going round the side to my back. The area about the size of an adult hand. Taken paracetamol and using hot water bottle.

Any help please?

Tietze Syndrome fits your symptoms and often comes after a chest infection. I'm prone to it and currently have covid, a chest infection and the inevitable tietze syndrome.

Hot water bottle works best for me, and painkillers help too. I have naproxen prescribed on repeat for it.

It sucks! It's so painful.
