I have an interview!! What do I wear?

I'm a primary school teacher on the move and after job hunting I've got an interview for my first non-teaching job.

It's an entry level HR role in an office. What should I wear to interview? For teaching interviews I have always gone very smart but not as formal as a suit/jacket.

Black trousers, nice top, smart shoes type of outfit. Good luck!

Go as you would for a teaching post. Even if it's slightly more formal than the post might require, interviewers always appreciate the effort on the part of the interviewee, that the process's significance is acknowledged.

It's better to be too formal than too casual. I'd wear a trouser suit and nice blouse or a smart dress. I always make a point in wearing a colour. If they're interviewing loads they'll see tonnes of black/grey, and as superficial as it is it's better to stand out a bit and be memorable without being too over the top of course.

OK fab - thanks so much. Love the tip about wearing colour. I'm a neutral lover so will try to step away from that for this.
