Anyone else riding the wave of back to back Bugs at the moment?

DS had tonsilitis before half term then two weeks later we all got a horrible weird virus that lasted 3-4 weeks. DS never fully got rid of his cough before we have all been struck down again, coughing, headache, generally feeling awful and DS has conjunctivitis with it as well. I’m so tired and it feels relentless, even though it’s only been a month or so.

I think it’s because DS started nursery in February, and we had about six months of hell before we had a bit of a break. And now it just feels like we are back in the thick of it again.

anyone else in the middle of it and want to join me in a woe is me moan?

Yes. This is us at the moment. Pretty sure we've been through 3 bugs back to back. It's been relentless. Been feeling sorry for myself as I have forgotten what it's like to be my normal usual well self.

Primary aged child has had
Flu,
Cold
Another cold
Cough and cold

Now has bloody scarlet fever!!

You are not alone, it is shite! We have been healthy the last week, feels like bliss.

mynameiscalypso · 14/12/2022 10:57

I was just about to start a very similar thread. We've all woken up with stinking colds today. Since Sept, I've had several colds, tonsillitis, sinusitis and pneumonia. DH and DS have just had a series of colds but obviously it's much worse for them being male 🙄 I am really sick of us all being ill though. We should have bought shares in Kleenex with the amount of tissues we're getting through.

Pheefifofuckthisshit · 14/12/2022 10:57

Yes we're all feeling shocking. I'm fed up of having to try and keep the house afloat on my own when I actually want to just lay down and sleep for a week solid. Or die. Youngest just wants me to play with him. Eldest has barely left their room. We all look and feel awful.

I had an actual DREAM last night that I was in hospital and I was happy about it. 😔 It was highly likely a fever dream but I did appreciate its accuracy as to how I'm feeling! 😭

I'm feeling quite sad and very aware that I'm flying solo and not doing too great with it. 😔

Yes!

My 3 year old is on week 4 of something or other. She had 2 weeks of a stinker of a chest infection. 2 lots of antibiotics, inhalers and steroids to shift.

Then last week DH ended up cleaning up sick in the middle of the night because of a tummy bug which lasted 2 days.

Then last night the same again. Just come off a night shift and I'm disinfecting the entire house.

This was us for 2 years. It was hell. So I always pop on just to offer sympathy and understanding! DD is 3.5, started nursery at 1 and only this year seems to have gained that mythical immunity that everyone talks about, but we’ve still had a few colds and a lot of coughing.

EcoCustard · 14/12/2022 11:14

Yes. Dc4 3.5 has had a relentless cough & cold since October mixed with sickness bug and throat infection off preschool today again with high temperature.
Dc3 5 has had two episodes of high temperature, fever, ear infection, cough & cold since mid November
Dc2 7 has had persistent cold and currently off school with fever, sore throat, sickness and aches.
Dc1 8 has had one full week at school since mid November. High temperature, sickness, sore throat, cough & cold. Sent home from school Monday again as developed a temperature & vomited. Was fine all weekend.
Both myself & Dh have been sick with persistent cough & cold for three weeks now feel awful with aches, fever etc. It’s relentless, I feel like not seeing anyone when they finish school as so sick of the illness and as we had covid last Christmas and we quite unwell I would like to be healthy this year. School are sending letters home about Dc1’s attendance too, which has annoyed me as school have sent him home on 3 occasions.

LiveAndLetLiv · 14/12/2022 11:17

Yep. Teen 1 had a week off with fever, cough, sore throat. The following week, Teen 2 had a week off with the same symptoms.

I’ve had a chest infection and cough I can’t shake lasting for three weeks now. Powering through at work but feeling like absolute crap.

Covid tests for all came back negative.

This is the thing that drives me mad. DS is 3.5 too and has been at nursery since he was 1 and yet this year is worse than ever!!
