Chapter books for young readers

I'd love some recommendations for simple chapter books for DD for Christmas who is just inhaling books at the moment.

She has read and enjoyed The Owl who was afraid of the dark, The Worst Witch, Fantastic Mr Fox, Isadora Moon, books by Dick King Smith

We're not keen on the Michael Morpurgo books as they're a bit dark.

Any suggestions? Particularly looking for books good for younger kids so that content is roughly appropriate. I want to save Harry Potter until she's old enough to really get the most out of it.

My DD is 7. She has enjoyed magic treehouse books, flower fairies books and currently reading never girls books.

Zoes Rescue zoo (series, there's loads of them)
Hotel Flamingo
Fabio the Great Flamingo Detective
Claude
Adventures of Mr Penguin
(The truly montonous but kids love them) Rainbow Fairies
Jasmine Green series

I just read the Violet investigates books to my daughter (6). Think it would be great for young readers. Short chapters, lovely illustrations and a fun mystery.

DD2 is 7 and is loving the Treehouse books, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates. They are not my cup of tea but she loves them so 🤷‍♀️

DD1 liked the Daisy books and the Pamela Butchard (sp?) books at this age iirc.

My 7 year old loves the naughtiness unicorn stories.

Ottoline series by Chris riddle has been popular here recently
Diary of a wimpy kid are always recommended and every child I know loves them!

My daughter loved the following books. (So much that at 14 she still refuses to pass them on...)
Daisy and the Trouble With series by Kes Grey
Books by Jeremy Strong
Dirtie Bertie series (can't remember the author sorry)

Atticus Claw series

JamesGiantPledge1 · 13/12/2022 13:23

Dirty Bertie (very funny)
The Quigleys - maybe she needs to be a little older as the chapters are shorter
Claude (very cute)
Rainbow Fairies - very boring for an adult and hugely repetitive. However excellent for early readers as the repetition helps them along.
The Grunts

Thanks everyone. I've made a list of some of these suggestions.

I'm trying to avoid the Rainbow Fairies as long as possibly. I haven't recovered yet from my DN's Rainbow Fairies phase!

Oh yeah the rainbow/ flower fairies are absolutely dire, one of the few things I avoid reading to her but she enjoys reading them herself 😅
