Work mentors - gift?

Hi,

I have been lucky to have 2 career mentors recently. They both work in the same company but we don’t work in the same offices, think I’ve met them in person about 3 times each in 2 years.

They are essentially the equivalent of my bosses boss. They offer me 1-1 Teams sessions once/twice a month. Give advice on situations I’m dealing with, help me with job applications and interview techniques. Generally confidence boosting and offering career guidance.

I have been promoted once this year, which was in part thanks to their advice. Have come to find out I’ve been successful in another promotion too, which I definitely couldn’t have done without them. Feel like I should get a gift to say thank you? But I don’t work with them in person so it may need to be digital

So to clarify, I will now be working at the same band/grade as them. I work in the civil service so could nominate them for reward and recognition vouchers but think it would be nice to get them a decent gift card too?

I wouldn’t. The relationship is too formal.

A good Christmas card with a well worded expression of your sincere gratitude should be sufficient.

I agree with Aixellency, I wouldn't to a gift either, a nice card would be enough, or might be a video greeting card if you need it to be digital.
