Banking fraud

Hi all,

I posted before about an issue I had with a hair salon and the advice given was to raise a dispute with my bank. Essentially the hairdresser charged my card whilst I wasn't present, without my knowledge or permission.

So I’m just waiting for the outcome of the fraud dispute with my bank. Has anyone raised one of these before, what was your experience like? How long did it take to be resolved? It’s just stress at a bad time for me so hoping it will be straightforward

How did they have your card details and what was the charge for?

But my thread here isn’t really to speak about what happened with the salon, more to hear about other’s experiences of raising disputes as I’ve never done so before.

Did chargeback twice. Once when a supplier couldn't deliver a wine order and once when a company we'd booked a holiday with wouldn't refund when the first lockdown happened. Both times the supplier tried using delaying tactics and lied about my refunds so I got pissed off and contacted my card supplier.

It costs the supplier when a chargeback happens so hat made it even more satisfying,

I seem to recall there is a certain period before the chargeback is actioned but it didn't seem too long from memory.

I have done it, on the old John Lewis card.

It was an absolute bloody nightmare, and in the end they agreed they had been shit and just refunded me 😤.

So I got my money back - but if they hadn't closed the old card down, I would've closed it anyway. Absolute shower.

But - it would've been more stressful to not get my money back...
