New denture hell!

Had a top front tooth extracted today and a bone graft for an implant. Have a denture for three months. Also had stitches in.

My mouth is sore but the denture is driving me mad. If I bite my teeth together the bottom too the bashes in to the denture and pushes it up in sore gum and the palate bit comes down at the back a tiny amount . I'm sure my gum is pretty sore form the extraction and stitches but please tell me this will Get better.

Also my whole mouth feel full of the palate. Is this normal or have a rubbish denture?

What do I need to do with the denture and the extraction site to look after them?

Wish I'd waited until after Christmas! Dreading work tomorrow - I'm a teacher and I'm unsure how I will manage.

This sounds miserable. Dentist should have adjusted denture to correct dimensions. When dd had this done she used corsodyl medical mouthwash and took regular pain killers. I hope it all settles and heals soon.

Thank you @Chickenkorma64 did your dd have a denture too?

I have had a wisdom tooth out a few years ago.

I'm back in two weeks. I can live with the weird bite until then I reckon.

I'll get some corsodyl.

I think the injection site in my palate is now sore so the denture is making it worse. I can't wait for my implant tbh.

I have top dentures, four in all. I asked my dentist to make the top palette really small and its so much better and the roof of my mouth is almost clear.

I have a denture and it does move a bit because of which teeth are missing. I never thought I'd get used to it and felt pretty miserable about it but I now sometimes don't know if it is in or out. Hopefully it'll all settle down and be less sore but at least it is only short term for you - sounds like you re having an implant?

My dd had various partial dentures at different times due to missing adult teeth (genetic condition). She often didn’t bother to wear them ( despite being 18 and at college, she was happier without!). Implant treatment can be tough.

Thanks everyone I know it would be a tough day.

DH went out so I took the denture out for a bit and much better. I think the gum and palate is still sore from the injection although I count feel it all when he did them.

@Doingmybest12 Yes I'm having and implant when this has healed. Hopefully March time is when I'll have a scan.

It looks natural at least. Just need to master eating and drinking and talking and terrified if harming the bone graft.

@Chickenkorma64 your poor dd sounds like she has been through the mill.
