We are going to the USA next week for Xmas..flying from MCR then from LHR to California and I have stupidly being looking at the rag that is the daily mail and it's all doom and gloom re; flights etc and the weather. I'm now winding myself up on flight tracker and checking out all the delays and cancellations..why do we do this to ourselves? I've been waiting for this holiday for over 3years.

I'm going to have another full week of pointless worrying about what could go wrong. I'm my own worst enemy. please tell me I'm not the only one who is very anxious over travel like this.

I do and I travel for my job regularly !!

Best thing to do is be prepared. Print off everything you need, make sure you have all the important things together. Remember the papers love writing Xmas travel holiday horror stories so they are looking for issues. I remember flying back to Heathrow when there were reported many hours of delays in passport control, so much so they had reported that people were being kept on planes.

We landed and got through the airport in about 30 mins 😂 - they always report the worst stories!

I know, it's really stupid to read the media when they are renowned for causing hysteria and drama.
