I saw this article today and it's positivity made me realise how little of that there is about at the moment.

Base editing: Revolutionary therapy clears girl's incurable cancer www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-63859184

There is so much doom and gloom about I thought it would be good to have somewhere to avoid it for a little while.

So I thought I'd start this thread.

So to start - I've just had a lovely long sleep and then an hour in bed with DH, DS and a big mug of coffee.

What things are making you happy at the moment?

Great now I'm crying

Open fires and twinkly Christmas lights on an evening. Getting wrapped up and going for a cold but sunshiney walk then coming home and getting snuggled with a blanket.

Going to feed the ducks on an icy lake Grin

We watched Narivity last night. Can't help but feel happy after that.

I love all the sparkling lights and lighting candles, cuddling up under a blanket talking about nothing and everything. I love the excitement when my kids saw snow this morning 🥰

We're completing on the purchase of our first house next week. We can only afford it because both mum & dad died very suddenly within weeks of each other so it's very bittersweet. But I know they'd both be chuffed to mintballs for us.

Thanks for this thread!

I've been struggling for a while so really keen to try to notice the happy!

Currently enjoying my fairy lights round the house, watched 3 Pines on Prime TV, bizarrely absorbing. 3 cups of tea in and still in bed. Loving that I'm not having a big family Christmas Dinner this year, so not stressed.

Pinterest recipe vid clips are making me feel good too, even if I never make half of them, gives me new ideas. Reading 'Luckenbooth' which is great and looking forward to Strictly tonight.

We had a little dusting of snow and football matches were cancelled, so an unexpected Sunday by the fire in the warm. We recorded nativity 2 to watch this afternoon, and the dc don’t know but I have a box of chocolates to share while we watch it!
