Will I make my connection?

I’m at the airport, I have a short flight and then a connection to my final destination. The airport website is showing my flight on time, but the airline is showing a delay which would make the connection very tight! I’m in departures right now, waiting to check in…. So, bets on if I make the flight or not?

Need more details?
Same airline? Same booking? Same terminal?
Timings?

MandaLynn · 11/12/2022 10:33

How long is the connection meant to be, with no delays?

Randommother · 11/12/2022 10:34

And to add, it’s a work trip so I don’t really mind if I make it or not.

Theres was a guy at the front of the check in queue having a right argument with the staff - I’m guessing he’s just been told there’s a delay!

Connection was 2:35, it’s probably down to 30 mins if the airlines site is correct

Same airline, same booking, same terminal for the connection

You might be OK. I think if it's the same airline they used to hold on for delayed connecting flights.

The check in is moving really slowly! One of the desks is tied up with a passenger who’s passport was issued over 10 years ago and they’re not letting her fly..

Now in departures and there’s no information about the delay, the screen just says “relax” against my flight, even though the 2 after it say go to gate…

if its all the same airline and bought on the same ticket then if you missed the flight due to a delay they will put you on the next one available

Sure, but I’m travelling Sunday to be ready for a work meeting on Monday, well it’s Monday - Thursday, but I’m presenting on Monday…

my flight is scheduled to depart in 3 mins, the screen still says “relax”…

Update to say I missed my connection, landing in Heathrow an hour after my connecting flight had left. BA have been useless, they wouldn’t rebook the flight or sort out hotels - we were just told to do it online and claim the costs. I managed to get a hotel (for £199 😮) but couldn’t sort out the flight online or over the phone - even our corporate travel agent wasn’t able to sort the rebooking out due to the number of displaced passengers yesterday!. Anyway, long story short, I had a great dinner and a few beers with some other displaced passengers who I bonded with over the shared experience, and I’m now in Heathrow departures hoping to fly out later tonight. Oh and I have beer, so all is good 😊
