We're having chicken stew with mash, warm (especially in this cold),filling & secret veg into the kids 😂.

StopGo · 11/12/2022 11:09

Pork steak, mash, yorkies, veg and gravy followed by croissant and butter pudding with custard.

Left over mash and veg will make bubble and squeak for DS tomorrow.

I'll use the oven so will pop a rice pudding in as well to fill the oven up.

Chicken casserole with puff pastry lids, roasted baby new potatoes, broccoli & cauliflower.

Which reminds me. I need to get the pastry out of the freezer!

Eminybob · 11/12/2022 11:33

Ooh warming comfort food all round

Harissa chickpea stew with crispy halloumi

ToffeeNotCoffee · 11/12/2022 12:34

roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, Yorkshire puddings, gravy, horseradish sauce, mustard. Red wine to drink

Plump82 · 11/12/2022 12:34

Haggis, neeps and tatties. Can't wait.

Crunchymum · 11/12/2022 12:34

Spicy chicken, halloumi and salad filled wraps. Chocolate sponge cake and ice cream for dessert.

Croissant and butter pudding sounds fab. Any particular recipe you can recommend @StopGo ?

Simonsaysitschristmas · 11/12/2022 12:35

Toad in the hole. Just can’t decide what to serve with it.

IHeartGeneHunt · 11/12/2022 12:36

Leftover cheese and tomato tortellini in oxtail soup, with American style biscuits, and fruit cocktail cobbler after.

HeyMicky · 11/12/2022 12:36

Pasta bake, garlic bread and salad. We were all out last night, mildly hungover adults today, need stodge and comfort

Oh I think I have made that recipe or something similar. I love this type of food.

Shepherd's pie, with crushed new potatoes and cheese instead of mash. Absolutely delicious and one of the few dinners everyone in the family will eat!

MaggieMagpie357 · 11/12/2022 12:40

@Simonsaysitschristmas I've started serving toad in the hole with cauliflower cheese, and some other assorted veg. Really goes well together and don't miss potatoes at all.

Eminybob · 11/12/2022 12:41

I would have roast beef, but I'm waiting for tesco to have half price rib of beef. We have it every year around Christmas when on offer.

I've got roast potatoes and a veggie plait thing in the oven along with a pumpkin, sweet potato and beetroot mix in another pan roasting plus I'm going to be starting an onion, carrot and cabbage seared in the pan with chilli, balsamic vinegar, honey and soy sauce all added in the last 2 mins. With yorkshire puddings and gravy.

TheBirdintheCave · 11/12/2022 12:43

Chicken fried rice with spring rolls :) If my morning sickness decides to let me cook 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

gingercat02 · 11/12/2022 12:44

Chicken Fajitas. No Sunday dinners in December here. DS needs cheered up after the football last night and fajitas is his favourite treat tea.

Shepherds pie is always a winner in this house too. I did a slight variation last night, mince and potato pie with shortcrust pastry top. So good.

Roast dinner with all the trimmings.
Ham is on already, can't wait

Workingmother2014 · 11/12/2022 12:58

Home made chicken pie, roast potatoes, yorkshire puds and veg - pie filling is in the slow cooker, roll on dinner time!

BabyFour2023 · 11/12/2022 13:00

Roast chicken & gammon roast for 18 of us. Homemade jam roly poly with custard for dessert. Love a family Sunday.

embolass · 11/12/2022 13:03

Roast chicken, roast pots, aunt Bessie mash, pot croquettes, roast carrots and sweet pot, peas, Yorkshire’s, gravy followed by a lemon curd pudding and custard , made drinking my favourite white wine. Just about to start 😁

Ragwort · 11/12/2022 13:05

So annoyed ... didn't buy meat yesterday and now the roads are too snowy to go out .. it would have been the perfect day for a lovely big roast ... I'm scrabbling around in the freezer & DH is finishing off some leftover chilli. Fortunately we have plenty of wine in and can start the Christmas chocolates.
