At least you got there. We didn't even get to spitting distance of the airport. Must be really gutting. I feel for the players and the fans.

I feel for the domestic abuse victims.

ssd · 10/12/2022 21:13

Well i know certainly that too.

But poor harry kane and the guy who missed that last free kick. Must be awful to be in their shoes. But i guess thats what being a professional is about.

Nah. Overpaid- just for kicking a ball. The best team won.

I also feel for any potential dv victims.

AnotherAppleThief · 10/12/2022 21:15

I mean, you sound genuine 🙄

NellesVilla · 10/12/2022 21:16

Just remembered that I bet this very result so have won a tenner. Thanks, boys! 😉

wewishyouamerrychristmas · 10/12/2022 21:17

It will be good to get the media back to normal.

3catsandcounting · 10/12/2022 21:17

The old trope about 'kicking a ball about'.
I'm no football fan, but it's a bit like folk who describe my job (TA) as sharpening pencils and handing out books. 🥱

Strokethefurrywall · 10/12/2022 21:18

I thought England played really well, and really gave France a run for their money.

Bitter shame about the second penalty and I know they must be feeling the disappointment awfully, but they should be proud of how far they came.

Parkgrassy · 10/12/2022 21:20

Oh dear

Never mind England
Oxborn · 10/12/2022 21:37

poor Kane

Never mind England

He probably knows to stay off social media for a while.

Just get Corrie back to normal !

WhatIsThisPlease · 10/12/2022 21:41

I blame ITV. Again.

Poor Harry 💔

ssd · 10/12/2022 21:43

He always comes across as really decent.

DH is running a public order shift tonight (police) and they're anticipating trouble. I hope it doesn't happen. He was checking the score before he left and hoping they won, not because he likes footie but because he knows it'll be DV callouts to the regulars and fighting in the pubs.

The unseen side of sporting celebrations/commiserations 😢

BorisJohnsonsHair · 10/12/2022 21:52

Please don't blame football for domestic abuse. I know it always spikes during tournaments, but turn your anger at the perpetrators, not sports teams

There was violence in Brussels after Morocco beat Belgium 2-0.....here:

And Spanish police were prepared for potential violence in Madrid in the event Morocco beat Spain too.

glamourousindierockandroll · 10/12/2022 22:20

I for one am pleased that Harry missed because i'd rather lose in 90 minutes than the usual torture of the penalty shootout. If they had to lose, i'm pleased it was this way.

Nobody is blaming football. It is the perpetrators.

But the media in parts and the money fuel a side of the football culture we can't ignore.
