Oooh yes. The first two series were fabulous. But then it went off the boil. Last series was dull.

OhPeggySue · 10/12/2022 19:56

Exactly as above. First 3 were fantastic. So many moments to press pause and Google! Latest series a snooze fest.

Candleabra · 10/12/2022 19:57

First two series definitely

Puzzledstill · 10/12/2022 20:02

@Puzzledstill

Glad you asked as always wondered

wineandsun · 10/12/2022 20:05

Yes. Absolutely love it. Waiting for my husband to return from 6 weeks working away to start the new series together

Augustlou30 · 10/12/2022 20:11

I think so. I very much treated it like entertainment tho and really didn't read too much into it. It's beautifully filmed and in some ways a great wee history lesson as the events are factual (the people, just speculation). True or not they are all very unhappy people x

Does it show the royal scandals etc? x

Yep, I guess their interpretation of them. The last season was alot more recent events.

Puzzledstill · 10/12/2022 20:21

I’ve just got my snacks together going to lock my self in the bedroom and have a watch x

Flapjackquack · 10/12/2022 20:21

My mum and I both liked it up to the respective seasons that we remember the events actually happening. That seems to track for a few people I’ve spoken to so I’d recommend watching up to your own living memories.

Puzzledstill · 10/12/2022 20:24

oh my mum was talking about the new series about a panorama interview, I was young haven’t got a clue

Series 1&2 fabulous, downhill from then.

isadoradancing123 · 10/12/2022 20:31

The first three series were great, after that, once it came to the Charles, Diana , Camill era, then just more of what we have heard and seen a hundred times

ssd · 10/12/2022 20:32

Yes the young queen and phillip was so good. Olivia Coleman looked like the queen was in a permanent sulk. She got regal and haughty so wrong. And the new series doesn't touch the first one either.

Leggingslife · 10/12/2022 20:33

Series 1 and 2 are great.
3 and 4 hit and miss.
5 no.

BMW6 · 10/12/2022 20:33

I was born in the late 50's so I know the "history" in series 3 onwards is a lot of made up shite half the time.

(I am aware of course that some of the "history" in s1&2 may be made up white also, but I'm too young to remember.)

Puzzledstill · 10/12/2022 22:27

I’m enjoying it and yes a lot of googling has been done

PAFMO · 10/12/2022 22:29

First couple are OK.
Became your typical comic book parody like those dreadful films they used to make about the "love stories" once the appallingly bad Charles and Diana actors came in.
