Lonely

I feel really lonely this weekend. I saw a friend and her daughter today and was meant to be together for much longer but then they got pulled away early and now I'm just on my own for the evening. I don't know whether it's Christmas or people getting together to watch the football or it being really cold outside but I just feel lonely :(

Same here. Saw a friend earlier, and now facing seeing no one until Monday.

Me too, although my kids are here, doing their own stuff naturally. It's a shit time of year when you don't have many people.

I'm on my own most of the time - supposed to be out with friends tomorrow but the weather is so shit it might not happen .

Agree shit time of year when you don't have many people. My friend was supposed to decorate my tree with me but had other commitments so had to think of who else could do it with me.
Also have really bad back pain getting me down a bit :(

Was just thinking this. The cold makes everyone hibernate at home.

No football here. Football free zone. Wonder what's going to happen on Mknday? 3 French people and 2 Brits in the dept chomping unsalted peanuts go radio in and scrolling mumsnet. No Christmas decorations up. CBA as some pupils say, can' t be arsed😫🤣

Lonely here too even though not strictly speaking on my own in the house (separated + disabled dc).

Just wondering whether any of you actually able to visualise your ideal Christmas because I can't. Or how to bring right people into your life that would make a positive difference.

My life is 80% "charity" as it is so any more of that doesn't appeal.

Never been invited to another family Christmas as not living in "mainstream" and don't want to feel people feeling sorry for us.

So how can we change status quo?
