Vinted buyer claims she didn't receive her parcel ..will I loose my money?

I sold a bundle to a lady on vinted.
The bundle was worth £40
I'm selling bits to have a little extra cash so really don't want to loose it.
Everything in the bundle was new with tags.
She chose yodel has her shipping method.
I took bundle to yodel drop off and they scanned the yodel shipping label (digital label ) and off it went.
Tracking yesterday informed me it had been delivered.
She then tells vinted she didn't receive it and says it was meant to be delivered to a store not her home.
(She chose the shipping method )
Anyway I forwarded the receipt of postage -the tracking details (showing delivered)and picture of parcel and contents.

Vinted have said they will investigate

Will she get refunded?
She keeps messaging saying refund her
I think she's trying to pull a fast one
She said she's going to have a look around her house for it.

I had this happen to me on eBay, some asshole on there literally stole a brand new hair dryer from me claiming they didn’t receive it. I didn’t use tracked or signed for though. Lesson learned, now I always do tracked and the customer is charged more for postage. You can’t trust anyone.

As long as you have used tracking of some sort for proof of delivery and make sure Vinted have this as evidence, it should be ok. Just don’t let he customer pressure you into a refund. She’s lying!

putyourbinoutt · 10/12/2022 11:15

It's shocking isn't it.
Especially when your just trying to get a little extra cash for Christmas
It's in black and white she's received it.

I'm not able to advise on whether or not you'll have to refund her, but she may be genuine. I had a parcel delivered by EVRI, photographic proof of it on the path outside my house ... but when I returned home from work the parcel was missing

Monmouthy · 10/12/2022 12:31

How do you know she’s automatically lying. My most recent deliveries from delivery companies have included the following as ‘delivered’:

Under a Bush on the street not in my garden
Sticking halfway out of the letterbox so anyone could grab it
Left on the path as pp said

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 10/12/2022 12:42

She may well be telling the truth, I have had parcels not show up and yet be marked delivered. One eventually turned up in my neighbours shed.

You could always raise a case with the courier for them to investigate. If they confirm it missing you should get your money back from them.

Has she gone to the store to see if it's there?

latetothefisting · 10/12/2022 12:47

I agree she sounds dodgy if she keeps messaging saying refund
Also there are usually different charges saying for store/home and you have to confirm which store etc.,

Vinted charge the insurance fee for this reason so you should get your money either way (although maybe a bit delayed) as you can prove you've sent it, its then up to vinted whether they also refund her or not.

Thelondonone · 10/12/2022 12:48

You won’t have to refund as you have proof you sent it. Yodel will refund her via Vinted. You don’t need to do anything.

Thelondonone · 10/12/2022 12:48

Except ignore her!

drpet49 · 10/12/2022 12:53

Blatantly sounds like she is lying. She chose the shipping method so it’s her fault if she wanted it to a store. Also constantly messaging for a refund is a red flag. Let Vinted deal with it.

I saw a parcel from the biggest online retailer just left on the pavement outside a big electric wooden gate.
Dumped on the admittedly quiet leafy street in an upmarket suburb at about 2.30 pm.
There for anyone to take.
Why didn't the driver throw it over the gate or push it through the hedge ?

I got a neighbour to take it in.

Parcels are left in full view of passersby, on my porch - we have a small driveway but no gates.
Why can't the delivery person just pop the parcel behind the blo*dy great flowerpot on the porch ?
😱

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/12/2022 12:59

This has happened to us twice recently: we didn’t receive parcel, company sent photographic evidence each time and it wasn’t our house! Wouldn’t automatically assume she’s lying.

Buffty83 · 29/12/2022 09:51

Hi can I ask her user name please ?

Wadhis · 02/03/2023 12:23

Hey did she receive the parcel. I’ve something similar I ordered something but the locker was empty.? I’ve been contacting Vinted with no luck & I’ve lost money too. They say they’ve checked with courier & they’ve delivered.
i don’t know what to do

HazyDragon · 02/03/2023 12:32

I'm pretty sure you will both be covered by Vinted if the delivery company have 'lost' your parcel.

This has just happened to me. What happened to you in the end. Did you get the money?
