Airbnb - blocked toilet

We are in an airbnb this weekend and have just found out that the toilet is completely blocked and unusable. My husband has tried to unblock it, but it doesn't work. It is actually quite revolting for him. We arrived late and of course the host doesn't respond now as it is the middle of the night.

What should we do? Are we entitled to ask for a refund? I haven't really got experience with this as so far my experience has been very positive on Airbnb

Obviously contact the host. If they don't fix it look for a refund

I am worried they are going to blame us for it

Right but what's your other option? If you say nothing they'll assume it was you when they spot it after you've checked out. Send a message and they'll sort it in the morning I'd guess.

We left early on Saturday and escalated the problem to Airbnb after the host gave us vague promises of sending someone over to fix the issue "as soon as they can". We got a massive refund from Airbnb and a 25 £ voucher on our next stay.

I also left the host a 1 star review. Before anyone accuses me of being bitchy - I am really not, a bit of dust and even spiderwebs don't bother me, but I draw the line at a blocked toilet full of feces from previous guests.
