Do I bring a gift?

I’m meeting a guy on Sunday, going to his for dinner. We’ve been on a few dates but I’m not his girlfriend yet or anything. I’d say we’re friends- still getting to know each other?

I don’t really want to get him a Christmas present, and don’t expect one. He’s never given me any gifts yet. But feel awkward not going with anything as it’s the last time I’ll see him before Christmas. Do you think just going round with a bottle of wine is enough?

In the same situation with my now-husband, I gave him a nice bottle of wine and he gave me a book and a radiator key (as I’d mentioned in passing that my radiators weren’t getting very hot!). I’ve never eased the book as it didn’t grab me at all but I still treasure the radiator key!

I would say a bottle of wine is fine. It sounds like you’d be happy with the reverse if you were hosting and it’s still early for Christmas presents anyway I would say.

Anyway, I’d say wine is fine, but I’d probably wrap it in xmassy paper, as I’d probably take a bottle of wine anyway if I were going for dinner at a new bloke’s house for the first time.

It's still two weeks till Christmas so it's not gong to be the last time you se him before Xmas is it?

Wine is fine for this far from Christmas. Christmas week champagne or Prosecco.
