Meals this weekend?

I love meal planning and I love these sorts of threads.

But I am totally out of inspiration and have no idea what to cook.

(Also, I have no idea what to do with some lovely slow cooked ham- other than pea and ham soup- so if anyone has any ideas).

What are you cooking this weekend?

I have no ideas with the possible exception of a tortelloni pasta bake because one of my favourite food bloggers posted one and it looked really good. I have a super fussy DS who has sensory issues around food but it looked like ti might work.

We have a toddler, so family-friendly meals.....
Beef massman curry tonight (is in the slow cooker).
Fish finger wraps with salad and sweet potato fries sat
Maybe creamy chicken and mushroom pasta on Sunday.... or I could do a pie but that's a faff.

We have our last Hello Fresh dish tonight, will get pizza tomorrow night, then I'll cook something nice on Sunday - probably Jamie Olivers Sausage and Tomato thingy.

Might do a beef casserole on Sunday, with either dumpings or a fresh loaf of crusty bread with copious butter.

WhatHaveIFound · 09/12/2022 13:38

No cooking as such all weekend...

Tonight - leftover curry
Sat - Party food & lots of wine!
Sun - Any leftovers the teens leave us

emmathedilemma · 09/12/2022 13:40

Tonight: either oven fish, chips and peas or something involving pasta, tuna and any veggies that are left in the fridge
Tomorrow: out for a late xmas lunch so it'll probably be toast to soak up the alcohol tomorrow evening or we'll pick something up on the way home
Sunday: dunno, will need to go food shopping!

ThreeB · 09/12/2022 13:48

Tonight it's a mixed bag: Camembert, crusty bread, chorizo in red wine & honey, satay skewers.

Tomorrow: probably a curry

Right- definitely ham colcannon tonight. That really looks good.

Tonight I am going to do slow cooker chicken and rice. Probably. Although I do have some battered cod in the freezer that has been looking at me accusingly the last few weeks.

Today
Bacon, eggs and avocado for breakfast
Ham sandwich on low carb bread for lunch
Roast chicken and salad for dinner

Same for tomorrow probably but with pork for dinner.

mamaduckbone · 10/12/2022 08:18

We're having slow cooked beef shin chilli tonight and chicken pie tomorrow, which would be even better with the addition of some of your ham...

WinterLobelia · 10/12/2022 08:21

Hmmmm...... chicken and ham pie.......

For breakfast we have just had homemade sausage and egg fake McMuffins but using brioche buns as that is what I had.

I am trying to get more veg into the DCs so might make a creamy vegetable soup as well for lunch/starter.

We had Indian - all veggie - last night. A dal, squash curry, veg rice, bhajis, raita, mango chutney, flat breads

tonight probably pasta - I do quite a simple one with steamed green veg which is good for using up any in the fridge then make anchovy / chilli croutons . With pecorino (a Lidl special 😂)

nut roast tomorrow with lots of veg and gravy, kids will help.

I will check out SimplyCook, thanks. I am definitely in a rut.

DCs are having pasta with cheese grated over the top for lunch (absolute favourite- but of so DULL).

I love lamb and love curry. DH's fave is a huge vegetarian curry feast so maybe dal is on the agenda this week....

GingerPigz · 10/12/2022 17:57

@WinterLobelia ... ooh, do let me know what you think of the ham colcannon. Like I said, it's my favourite - but is met with a lukewarm reception from DH and the DCs. Heathens. Doesn't stop me rustling it up every so often though!
