Best supermarket sticky toffee pudding?

FrogFairy · 08/12/2022 19:54

I have access to Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco or Morrisons.

Please can anyone recommend from experience which might be the best? Hoping for lots of toffee sauce on top if it makes a difference.

I am definitely not up for making my own. Thanks in advance for your valued opinions of yummyness.

We had a lovely aldi one the other week but (and I know it's not on your list) the waitrose one was amazing!

This is a quick and easy recipe to make!!

Oh sorry just read your last sentence but still think that recipe is worth putting out there 🤣

Charlie Bigham one is really nice. Sold in supermarkets, although I’m not sure which ones.

I bought a spar one last year as only local place open, in an emergency and it was lovely. I know it's not on your list, but generally there's a spar locally to most people.

Co-op sticky toffee pudding is amazing and lots of sauce on top! It says serves 6 but somehow we always end up getting it for 2 of us haha

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/12/2022 19:59

Coop do the best.
Marks and Spencer the worst.

Sorry but Sainsbury’s is the best I've had with their fresh vanilla bean custard

Jellycatspyjamas · 08/12/2022 20:19

You can make more toffee sauce - butter, brown sugar and double cream melted together in a pan finished with a dash of whisky. Much easier than making the whole pudding.

Only Cartmel for us. I think it is in Waitrose or Booths

Caramel is excellent but if you have access to a co-op theirs is very good .

Yep Cartmel is the original and best. I’ve had it from Waitrose and also a large Tesco (but not recently so not sure if they still have it). It freezes well too

Came on to say this. If it's the toffee sauce you want, just make some of that yourself to go with whatever pudding you buy, it's really quick and easy and you could even freeze any leftovers for next time, not that there will be any.

Cartmel is the best. If you're a member of Costco, they do packs of 2 of the large Cartmel sticky toffee pudding at a very good price.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/12/2022 08:45

Yes, Cartnel are delicious (bought a 2 pack from Costco)
And the Co-op one is lovely .
Sainsbury one is nice but a bit mean on the sauce.

I'm going to do the Delia/John Tovey one, I have dates and Camp Coffee at the ready !
