I'm not going because of the cost, because I'm a really fussy eater and wouldn't eat half of it, I don't drink alcohol or enjoy discos, and because I'he only been there a few weeks and am still getting to know people.
I've made an excuse - already committed to a prior engagement.
I will have a lovely night at home in my PJs, eating what I like, watching carp TV and going to bed when I'm tired!

I'm not going to ours. It's in an expensive and very trendy venue. I don't have the suitable garb and have nothing to talk about of any interest these days. But I am menopausal and couldn't give a toss either. I think I actually uttered the phrase "it's a young persons' game" to DH the other day.... Will be in my PJs watching some utter shite on the idiot box and be quite happy about it.

Yup. Turned down two. Even if I don't drink and I drive myself, it would still be at least £70.

Yes I've turned mine down.
£65 for the meal then drinks, taxis, clothes, hair... I'd be looking at £150 and the money isn't there 🤷🏽‍♀️
I'm an antisocial bugger though so not really that worried.
