New Year’s Eve party for one

Any ideas for what I can do?

Am going away in January so don’t want to spend on a break.

Have thought of ordering some party food or getting a take away but neither seem very New Year’s Eve. I’ll be at my flat so it will probably involve watching a film or five (suggestions welcome for that too).

Friend’s are all with their families and it’s my first year by myself so trying to be gentle with myself. Work is closed for 10 days so looking for some kind of decadent distraction that’s not horribly expensive.

Bottle of champers from Aldi, lots of party nibbles.

Bliss

If this was me I would do the following:
Get up early and drive out to some country estate or nice town - walk, shop and have lunch out.
In the afternoon I'd go to the cinema and watch a good film, stop off at M&S for snacks/food/drink on my way home, get into my PJs and watch another film or two in the evening.
I probably wouldn't bother staying up if I was tired, I'd just treat myself all day and sleep when I wanted to.

(I am getting on a bit but the above is my idea of a perfect New years eve!)

Most of mine are spent alone. Bottle of crémant, posh nibbles, homemade mayo, decent seafood and a film. I love it!

It's my birthday. DH is working nights, DD is going to a friend's and DS will be asleep by 9pm. I will watch a film and eat leftover Christmas food.

Ooh when I do this sort of thing I bake myself a camembert with good bread and proper salami. Then with a bottle of champagne/prosecco/whatever your drink of choice

Maybe get yourself some new fancy PJs and have a spa style evening?

DH will be on his own as I won’t be here. He will have fish and chips and watch Jules Holland.

This sounds fabulous!

Thank you for all the suggestions. I’m not feeling like such a Billy no mates now.

@BagpussBagpussOldFatFurryCatpuss that sounds like a fabulous day. I’ve been eyeing up the food to order at Marks and Spencer but not sure I fancy carrying it (will be on foot as I don’t have a car).

Like the idea of new pajamas too @CarPoor. And the cheese.
