I challenge you to think of a starter

Of course we don't NEED a starter - 4 people all with fussy different tastes and I can't think of the same starter that they could all have:
3 adults and 1 teen
NO
Cheese
Red meat
Vegetables (peas and carrots are ok)
Spice
Indian / Chinese / Italian
Garlic

All I can think of is a retro vol-au-vent with chicken tinned cream of chicken soup
Or bruschetta with ? on it?

Any ideas?

No fish?

What kind of person writes off all fish? Fish is great!

Chicken kebabs with satay dip

Yummmmmm

More of a canapé than a starter but if you're serving vol-au-vents or similar, this could work alongside -- crispy bread sticks (you can get extra-thin and crispy ones) wrapped with spirals of prosciutto.

Plus a bowl of sour cream/Greek yoghurt with finely chopped spring onions and parsley, if you like.

Mini chicken kebabs with a selection of dips
Chicken liver pate and Melba toast
Sticky chipolata sausages (in honey and whole grain mustard)
crudites (carrot, cucumber, celery, breadsticks) and dips
small portion (3 or 4) @ravioli or tortellini (readymade - takes 3 minutes) with a tomato or cream/carbonara sauce

Peas, grated carrots mixed with flour and egg. Form into patties and fry. Serve with a bit of salad and/or tomato sauce dip.

Forgot to mention to dry the carrot after grating before forming into shapes, otherwise it's too wet and will just fall apart when frying.

What do they do at their house?
