I'm quite new to the role. Started in November, enjoy the actual job itself, it's interesting but I'm still learning and lots more to learn. Due to the nature of the job it can be quite stressful and demanding sometimes from senior colleagues, these situations are expected and usually water off a ducks back to me.
The issues are with my immediate colleagues who are in the same role as me. There is a lot of talking about people behind their backs, both about the quality of others work and personal comments about people. Lots of eye rolls and quite often a tense atmosphere. They've not really made any effort to hide this from me even from the start. My immediate manager has been off poorly (illness related) from when I started and I haven't really spent much time with him, he's asked me how I'm going with everything, sent me a message to say he's had good feedback about me but I've had no one to one time and the work environment is not the best for private conversations.
I'm sure there will be a point when I can have this time but I'm unsure as to whether I bring it up with them or not. I don't want to start off on a bad footing but equally cannot stand the tension sometimes.
It's a fixed term contract with a view to a permanent position. I don't know whether to raise it or keep my mouth shut and move on after my contract is over even though the job could be something that I really like?
